Party Drinks: Sparkling Punch

The first recipe I am going to share from Sugarella's birthday party is the sparkling punch.  I have made a number of different punch recipes over the years but I really really like this one.  This recipe comes from Southern Living although I'm not sure how long ago.

Non-alcoholic version
Ingredients:
2 (12oz) cans frozen pink lemonade concentrate, thawed
8 cups white cranberry juice cocktail
2 qts. club soda, chilled
Garnish: fresh mint sprigs

Stir together lemonade concentrate and cranberry juice cocktail in a large pitcher. Cover and chill at least 1 hour or up to 24 hours.  Stir in club soda just before serving.  Garnish, if desired.

If you would like a sweeter flavor you can substitute ginger ale for club soda.  We already had so many sweet things I thought it would be best to keep this refreshing and not too sweet.  Make adjustments as necessary based on the amount of people you are hosting, what other drinks you are offering, and the size of your container.  The one pictured came from the grocery store and I believe it was less than $20.  I have purchased more expensive ones in the past but they all leaked.  This one has never leaked and is easy to clean.

Alcoholic version
Ingredients:
2 (12oz) cans frozen pink lemonade concentrate, thawed
8 cups white cranberry juice cocktail
2 bottles extra-dry champagne, sparkling wine or Prosecco
1/2 cup orange liqueur
Garnish: fresh mint sprigs

Party Tip:
Instead of a bag of ice prepare some festive blocks of ice in clean plastic containers.  Fill with water, add lemon slices, fresh raspberries, strawberries, mint sprigs, limes, whatever you like and freeze.  It looks really nice and takes longer to melt than ice cubes.

Don't forget to share this with your friends and leave a comment!

  5. How many ounces did you make, or how many people did it serve? I'm having my baby shower this weekend with 40 guests, & I'm also having soda & water. I'm wondering if this recipe will be enough or if I have to go with 3 pink lemonade concentrates...

    1. I had about 25 people here and I did end up making 2 batches. If you got enough supplies for two batches you should have enough with your other beverages.
